In this edition - On behalf of the State UFUQ Executive members, and all of your elected officials and employees of the State UFUQ, I wish every member a safe, and Merry Christmas and also a happy New Year.
v37#24 17.5% OPERATIONAL ADJUSTMENT PAYMENT – UPDATE
In this edition - Additional payment: You are no doubt aware your union obtained an inclusion in CA22 (clause 22 – QFES Operational Adjustment) that provides an additional payment to all members of 17.5% of 2.5 times your ‘normal fortnightly pay’ (17.5% of 200 hours).
v37#23 FIRE CONDITIONS REQUIRE PROFESSIONAL RESPONSE
In this edition - The current conditions for fire across Queensland on 31 October are grim, and many of you and your colleagues are out there right now doing the best you can, and many more of you may soon be called on to do the job you are trained and experienced to do.
v37#22 2024 DIARIES AND CALENDARS
In this edition - Your 2024 diaries and calendars will be mailed out in late December.
v37#21 QFES DRAWS CLOSER TO EXTINCTION
In this edition - Your union has been working hard for an end to the QFES circus, through the establishment of the new Queensland Fire Department and a return to fire and rescue operations being the focus of that new department.
v37#20 FIRE SERVICE UNABLE TO PROVIDE PAYMENT INFORMATION ON CA22 ALLOWANCES!
In this edition - Members who work at live fire campus or as DMO’s have rightly been asking when their allowances and provisions arising from CA22 might commence, given the agreement was certified in May 2023.
v37#19 INCREASED SUPERANNUATION PAYMENTS: COMMENCEMENT DATE CONFIRMED
In this edition - You will recall I reported to you all that in June 2023 the Queensland Treasurer, the Hon Mr Cameron Dick, wrote to your union confirming an increase in accumulated benefit superannuation for all members employed under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 due to the forced retirement age.

Auxiliary Update 19 July 2024
In this edition - A number of Auxiliary Firefighters have recently contacted UFUQ representatives and the state office about some potentially mistaken and inconsistent application across the state of the mandatory two-hour minimum payment provisions contained in Clause 22 of your award.
Auxiliary Update - 18 June 2024
In this edition - A reminder that your union fee statement will be emailed to your personal email address.
Auxiliary Update - 24 May 2024
In this edition - You will recall I advised you earlier this year of your 2023 wage rise. You will soon see an increase in your remuneration (for example hourly rate and annual retention allowances) by 5.75%. This increase is a result of the State Wage Case, run by Queensland Unions in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
