CODE 2, VOL 35, NO 9 : 22 april 2021

QFES SENIOR MANAGEMENT AGAIN STEALING YOUR JOBS AND GIVING THEM TO PUBLIC SERVANTS.

NEXT UP – FIRE BEHAVIOUR ANALYSIS:

I am aware that the Commissioner has recently signed off on a process your union is stepping in to correct. I’ll soon have more to say on this Commissioner and his apparent lack of understanding of what an actual firefighter in an actual fire service does.

Work has been done by some very senior QFES managers who have never been firefighters (but like to wear a uniform) to stop the Fire Behaviour Analysis (FBAN) and Predictive Services roles and functions from being done by experienced (real) professional firefighters.

Changing FBAN work from being done by real firefighters to being done by pretenders is a power grab by those very senior managers inside QFES, but outside QFRS, who are either non-operational or anti-firefighter, or both.

This idea is unsafe and your union is not going to stand for it. It seems that some in QFRS senior roles aren’t acting to protect the future of their own jobs, nor to protect the QFRS service from being entirely eroded  by QFES.

I am working to have this situation properly assessed, not allowing your role to be eroded and run into the ground, putting you at risk of injury or death to suit the QFES agenda.

The UFUQ will work to protect your safety and protect your rank structure and your roles, to ensure you have a future in QFRS, because if we don’t do it, it’s quite clear from this situation that no one else will.

I’ll update you as soon as I know more.
