CODE 2, VOL 35, NO 19 : 28 june 2021

UPDATE: QUEENSLAND HEALTH / QFRS & COVID19

You will no doubt be aware of the growing concern over the number and strain of COVID19 infections across Australia.  In Queensland, whilst the numbers of confirmed cases in this latest outbreak are still low, the state government, through Queensland Health, are taking proactive steps to attempt to keep those numbers low.

As a result, the following 11 local government areas (LGA’s) have specific rules in place from 0100 Tuesday morning –
1. Brisbane
2. Ipswich
3. Logan City
4. Moreton Bay
5. Redlands
6. Sunshine Coast
7. Noosa
8. Somerset
9. Lockyer Valley
10. Scenic Rim
11. Gold Coast

Today QFRS has also acted to elevate the PPL level to PPL2 in affected work locations and communications have been sent to all members by QFRS about that, so please check your work emails for that information from QFRS.

Given the affected LGA’s, stations in the following QFRS regions are directly affected –
• Brisbane Region
• South East Region
• North Coast Region

As with previous periods of management of outbreaks by QFRS, I encourage you to stay informed by reviewing information coming from Queensland Health, and the email sent to all members by QFRS.

Regularly updated Queensland Health restriction and related rules and other information can be found HERE.

Finally, as with previous advice, the UFUQ recommends you work together to manage the PPL and other requirements at your work location as required. And, as this current situation potentially escalates, your union will continue to communicate with you.
