State Wage Case hearing set for Thursday 18 August 2022

As you are aware, wage rates within your Award are determined by the State Wage Case Decision each year.

When the Decision is published (usually in September each year), the amount granted by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) will be applied to your wages and some of your allowances (see clause 15.5, along with clauses 12 and 15.1, 3 & 4 of your award, which you can find here).

The Commission hearing for the submissions to the wage case is to be held on Thursday 18 August 2022.

I can advise that within the submissions to be put to the QIRC by the Queensland Council of Unions, your union is aiming for a 4.6% wage rise for you and your colleagues, along with a 4.6% rise in all relevant allowances.

I will provide an update once the Decision is handed down by the QIRC.
